So I’m wandering around by myself at the Natural Products Expo last weekend and everyone and their mother is passing out food samples. Most of the vegan eats I tried were of the savory variety but my sweet tooth is so big it could chew corn on the cob through a hole in the fence. Luckily, just as I was about to leave the venue and walk a mile to the 7-11 for a Red Vine fix I spotted a sample of a fruit cobbler something-or-other. Despite the lack of artificial coloring, I gave it gobble. For the love of all things holy was this stuff good. I wanted to eat all 12 dixie cup samples.
The gals woman-ing the Among Friends booth could obviously tell my level of interest by the foam spewing from my mouth and gave me a whole bag to bake at home with my little man!
Turns out I was chowing down on “Trish the Dish“, their gluten-free fruit crisp mix. Friggin gluten-free! And it tasted good. Weird, I know.
Instructions are so easy that even I wasn’t challenged. That says a lot, trust.
Preheat oven to 350. Put some fruit on the bottom of a 9 x 11 pan. I used a bag of frozen berries from Trader Joe’s.
Then put the whole bag of mix into a bowl and add 5 tsp of Earth Balance. Mix well. Dump it on top. Cook it for about 30 minutes.
SNAP. All natural, non-GMO, gluten-free certified, vegan and low fat, low cal. Kid tested, mom approved (Hey, that’s good. I should trademark it!).
Click here to find out where you can buy their insane mixes. They have a gang of different types, all of which sound spectacular. Or, order some online. If you order three, YOU GET ANOTHER THREE FOR FREE! Totally worth it. This stuff is so good that I’m diagnosing myself with celiac disease so I have a prescription to eat it.
